DescriptionDuring operation, and
especially when docking and undocking from a charging station, MiR250,
MiR500, MiR600, MiR1000, and MiR1350 sometimes report the following error:
“Safety System Error (Laser (Front/Rear) Device Error”. In SICK Safety
Designer, the error code is “0xE20B001F”, which could be followed by
"0xE20B000D" or "0xE20B000E".
Unfortunately, these
firmware updates cannot be installed through MiR software and require direct
access to the scanner by a SICK service technician.
For robots within warranty, MiR will provide a replacement scanner for any affected scanner upon documented proof of failure. This proof must be in the form of a SICK report showing the error within the warranty period of the robot (active standard or extended warranty)—see the guide How to generate a SICK report. All documentation must be provided via a support ticket for MiR Technical Support—see the guide How to create a technical support ticket. You can find these guides on MiR Support Portal. Installation and labor are not covered. For robots without warranty, we recommend contacting a local SICK support line and requesting a visit by their service technicians to upgrade the scanner. If SICK is unable to upgrade the firmware, it is possible that the scanner must be replaced at your expense by a new scanner from MiR that is pre-sorted for precision. Scanners that are not pre-sorted by MiR may not function correctly, will void the personnel detection safety rating of the robot, and will not be covered by any warranty from MiR. If SICK can send a
service technician to upgrade the scanner, the upgrade takes approximately 15
min per robot. The upgrade entails a small risk of the scanner failing
and shutting down permanently. MiR is not liable for these failures. |
