How to set up MiR Access Point
Things you'll need
Before setting up the access point
Step 1: Reset the access point to make sure it is running with the default Mikrotik settings. Follow these steps to reset the access point:
Make sure the access point is not connected to a power source. This can either be through Power over Ethernet or micro USB.
Hold down the access point's Reset button.

Connect the access point to a power source while holding down the Reset button. You can either connect a micro USB or an Ethernet cable that support PoE.

Once the LED lights start flashing, release the Reset button. If you wait until the light stops flashing before releasing the button, the access point will enter Netinstall mode, and you will have to repeat the reset process from the beginning.

Step 2: Open the access point setup script, and make sure that the End of Line Sequence remains LF. If you use Visual Studio Code to edit the file, you can check this in the bottom-right corner.

Step 3: Configure the downloaded setup script. You can modify the following parameters:
wifijapan: This is included in come versions of the script. It is not applicable and must be set to false.
wifipassword: Enter the password you want to use for the access point's WiFi hotspot.
apserial: Enter the serial number of your access point. This is used in the name of the WiFi hotspot. You can also substitute this with something else, as it will only affect the name of the hotspot.

Setting up the access point
Step 1: Connect your computer to the access point using an Ethernet cable.
Step 2: Open WinBox on your computer and enter the following:
Connect To: 192.168.88.1
Login: admin
Password: (blank)

Step 3: Select Connect, to connect to the access point.

Step 4: Select Files to open the file list.

Step 5: Drag and drop the Access point setup script mir_ap_x.x.x.rsc into the File List under the folder flash. The file is now saved on the access point, and you will be able to use it again if you need to set up the access point again in the future.
It is very important that the setup file is dragged into the File List under the folder flash so the file is saved persistently on the access point.

Step 6: Select New terminal, and enter the following command into the terminal:
/system reset-configuration keep-users=no no-defaults=yes run-after-reset=flash/mir_ap_x.x.x.rsc
Make sure to change mir_ap_x.x.x.rsc to the name of the setup script.

Step 7: Press the Enter key to start the script, and enter y when prompted. The access point will restart during this process, and your device will be disconnected from the access point.

Step 8: Wait for the access point to finish restarting. The access point will be correctly set up once it finishes starting up.
