How to lubricate the drive wheel bearings on MiR600 and MiR1350

Once a year, the roller bearings on the two drive wheels should be lubricated with bearing grease. This helps ensure the longevity of the drive wheels.

Things you will need

  • A grease pump

  • Rocol Foodlube Hi-Temp 2 bearing grease

Before lubricating the drive wheel bearings

  1. Turn off the robot, and disconnect the battery in the left side compartment. To disconnect the battery, pull out the Battery lock pin, and pull the Battery lever downwards until the Battery lock pin is in the middle position.

  2. Press the two buttons on the side hatch.

  3. Pull open the hatch.

  4. Disconnect the status light cable.

  5. Turn the two hinges in the bottom corners to release the hatch.

  6. Remove the hatch from the robot.

  7. Remove the hatch on the other side compartment using the same procedure.

Greasing the drive wheel bearings

  1. Attach a grease pump to the grease fitting on one of the drive wheels.

     

  2. Apply 2 g of Rocol Foodlube Hi-Temp 2 bearing grease.

  3. Clean away any excess grease.

  4. Repeat from Step 1 on the other drive wheel.

  5. Reassemble the robot by following the steps in Before lubricating the drive wheel bearings in reverse.
